Sárvár 48 (2 days near Sárvár)
If you’d like to spend a weekend in one of our apartments and explore the magical world of this land, then we offer the following program:
1st day
Choose one of the 4 spas, that are in the 15 km radius of our apartments. The largest and most vibrant is the Sárvár Spa and Wellness Centre, while its calmer “brother” the Volcano Spa Celldömölk offers a more intimate experience. For true relaxation, our favourite is the Mesteri Thermal, with 82 degrees medicinal and a panoramic view of Ság Mountain from the pools. For a retro feel, visit Borgáta Thermal. End the day with a dinner at Borostyánkert Restaurant in Sitke, featuring rural tastes, and enjoy an easy walk back to our apartments.
2nd day
If the weather is good, explore the area of Sárvár and Kemeneshát, with an easy tour. Whether by renting bikes from our apartment park, or by car or on foot you can explore natural, built and cultural landmarks. On foot follow the trails of the Mária Pilgrim Route or the National Blue Tour both adjacent to the apartment park. By bike visit the Ság Mouintain and the Kemenes Volcano Park, which lets you see inside the exciting world of Volcanos. The Ság Mountain offers multiple tourist trails and is known for the energizing St. George which line runs through it as well. For a light walk, explore Sitke, famous for its chapel, where in every year at the end of August a Rock fest is organized with a true Woodstock feeling. From there you have a beautiful view on Ság Mountain and its other “sibling” mountains, turned into hills with time. But as exciting as this is the “Turkish Pillar” in front of the old cemetery, which legend is unique even in the special, history of Kemeneshát. This area and the village can be explored from our apartments.
Sárvár 72 (3 days near Sárvár)
1st day
Do you wish to spend the first day with relaxation? Why not? You can choose from four spas in the region, all within a 15 km radius of the Apartment Park. The Sárvár Spa and Welness Centre is the largest and most well-known, but at the foot of the exciting Ság Mountain you’ll find two more spa complexes: the larger is the Volcano Spa in Celldömölk, the other, our favourite is the more intimate Mesteri Thermal, which medicinal water helps your weary limbs to relax after a long day. For a retro experience visit Borgáta Thermal. Enjoy authentic local and Hungarian cuisine at Borostyánkert restaurant in Sitke, accessible with a star-lit walk from our apartments. End the day with wine on our terrace, enjoying friendly conversations or intimate moments with your partner.
2nd day
Transform the special calmness of our apartments into active relaxations with numerous tour routes starting near the Apartment Park. Walk through the continental forests of the region, explore the inside of a sleeping volcano, have a small El Camino, or explore the local myths and legends. Follow the Sárvár-Sitke section of the National Blue Tour and the Mária Pilgrim Route. For an easy walk from our apartments explore Sitke’s secrets including the Kálvária Chapel, and its annual Rock Fest, with a beautiful panorama of the Ság Mountain, ruling the horizon, or the distant Somló, famous for its wines. Rent bikes from our Apartment Park, to visit the Kemenes Volcano Park, and its architecturally awarded experience centre, then descend into the belly of the Ság Mountain, which is accessible thanks to earlier excavation works and is the mountain’s most special part, beside its myths and legends. Share your explorations on our terrace, watching the sunset paint the slopes of the Hercseg Hill.
3rd day
Explore unique sights further away, while sticking to eco-friendly travel options. South of Sitke in the nearby village of Káld, you can visit the Farkas forest, once the Bavarian king’s forest, accessible by bike
For built heirlomms, Kemeneshát has also lot to offer. Visit the Nádasdy castle and its unique Huszár exhibition. For a more adventurous trip drive half an hour to the Castle of Somló, on Somló Mountain, famous for its grapes, used to make wine for wedding nights. This region is rich in legends, from Báthory Erzsébet, known as a vampire to, the mysterious Dragon Knighthood which also had connections with Kemeneshát and probably its also not a coincidence, that one of the energizing St. George lines runs through Ság mountain and leaves the region at a village’s church near Sárvár, called, Ikervár. The church’s patron saint is St. George himself…
Sitke also has its own cultural-historical mysteries, because once the Dragon Knighthood guarded it. You can almost feel like you’re in a scene from The Da Vinci Code, when you step inside the Great church of Sitke and see the mural of the pulpit. Originally it depicts Jesus, yet it appears to be a woman. Is this just coincidence, or a message from the Dragon Knighthood? Returning to the apartments you can continue the explore the stories and myths of the land and recharge with the magical feelings transmitted by every corners of the Park.
Sárvár7 (1 week near Sárvár)
1st day
Start your stay with some attunement. Slow down and shift from the pace of the working days to the rhythm of the countryside, letting nature be your conductor. Enjoy the sunrise with a good cup of coffee on the terrace, read in the courtyard before noun, and hide away from the afternoon heat in the shadows of the arcades, or in one of our uniquely atmospheric apartment houses. If you’re for an adventure, Sitke’s mythical places and tour routes await. The Kálvária Chapel is unmissable, greeting visitors at the beginning of the village on the side of Hercseg Hill. Its diverse towers, tell their own story. The Rock Fest is held here in every year, more than thirtieth time now, providing a real Woodstock feeling. As you walk to the Chapel, the sight of the ancient volcano, Ság Mountain will catch your attention. From here you can see the village’s church as well. It hides some deep secrets, that’ll make you feel like you’re inside one of Dan Brown’s novels, once you look behind the pedestal. Behind the church a dirt road, known as the ”Roman Road”, leads to the hills and ruins of an amphitheatre. From the main road of Sitke,you can see the ruins of an ancient public bath, used until1960, with pools refilled by the Bölönt-rill’s warm water source. Near the “Turkish Pillar”, guards multiple legends.
2nd day
There are four different spas near our apartment park, Each worth visiting on separate days. The Sárvár Spa and Welness Centre, the Vulkán Spa Celldömölk, the Mesteri Thermal and the Borgáta Thermál each offer unique styles,and healing effects. Treat yourself to a morning, afternoon, or even a full day of relaxation. Gain exciting experiences in the water and let go of your stress while enjoying the panoramic view of Ság Mountain. Here nothing and no one will hurry you. The landscape and the atmosphere of our apartments help you rediscover the true values in life and within yourself.
3rd day
If you prefer active relaxation, immerse yourself in nature, dive into its greenery and enjoy it’s fragrances. Plan a day of hiking. If you don’t want to have any directions, just go, and explore the slopes near our Apartment Park. The beauty of this land is enhanced by the myths and legends associated with the region. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter deer and stags along your wayFor a more structured day, the Ság Mountain is a perfect choice easily accessible by bike on the Mária Pilgrim Route. Walking the Sitke-Sárvár section of the Natural Blue Tour can be a relaxing adventure, or you can hop on our bikes and explore the Bavarian king’s Farkas Forest.
4th day
Visit two unique landmarks by car or bike. Start with the Dam at Nick, built on the Rába River and still in the use today. Fully explore this structure which demonstrates the real power of nature. The first saddle dam in Hungary was built in 1929. Next visit the waterworks in Ikervár. It provides electricity since 1900 and open to visitors. Ikervár is also notable for the energizing St. George lines running beneath its surface. The village church, protected by St. George, stands directly above one of these lines.
5th day
Dedicate this day to relaxation and dive into the park’s unique atmosphere. Rest your eyes on the vineyards of Hercseg Hill or taste wines from the Ság or Somló in the shade of the terrace. Engage in long conversations with your companion, read or play board game, inside the apartments. By the fifth day, you will have adapted to the healthy pace of rural life, allowing you to fully appreciate the tranquillity. Reflect on the last time you were captivated by the unparalleled experience of a sunset or a star-filled night sky, Count the constellations, where the light pollution of the cities is minimal. Let the universe’s mystery and calmness envelop you as you sit on the terrace or lay on the grass with childlike wonder.
6th day
Sárvár’s main attraction is the Nádasdy Castle, home to the country’s only permanent Huszár exhibition. As you walk through its different rooms and chambers you will sense the history, knowing that Báthory Erzsébet, the infamous vampire, part of the family who established the Dragon Knighthood once lived here. Nearby, the Arboretum, offers a pleasant walk and intriguing details. The orchard was once here, which provided food for the castle’s residents, and two oaks are standing beside the Arboretum’s lake. This was once the castle’s garden, where even the famous “Fekete Bég” could have played with his wooden sword.
